Sponto, the Washington DC based mobile party detection app that originally launched for college kids just launched their special edition Android app for DC week. The app allows regional tech community to experience DC week from anywhere in real time.

You and other participants will be able to form ad-hoc, spontaneous events simply by coming together with your phones in and around DC week events. Once detected, event participants can add their Facebook friends and post photos and descriptions to create a rich, real-time feed of everything that’s happening during DC week.

To position our awesome Washington, DC as a tech hub faster, I encourage you to give them your support by downloading their Android App here  (click on Sponto (DC Week Edition) – Android Market link) for a test drive to see how it works and give them your feedback.  If you already using their app and happy with it, feel free to awesomize their pages here. The higher their score, the more they’ll be found on the major search engines!

Over the next few weeks, the company will be conducting a series of experiments to see what’s missing to make Sponto reach its full potential. If you’d like to participate in one of our alpha tests, click on Contact the Admin link from their page.

I have been following Sponto  since their inception. They have certainly come a long way in such a short period of time! So, right on guys! Keep up the good work!
